The Lady Laker Women's Basketball had a better offensive (and defensive) showing on Monday night on their way to a victory at Andrews University. The Cardinals of Andrews University were held to 30% shooting from the field and 25% from the 3 point line by a stingy Laker defense. On the flip side,the Lakers were able to move the ball effectively against the Andrews zone, leading to 9 made three pointers in the winning effort.
How It Happened: After trailing by a score of 24-22 after the first half, the Lakers had a particularly strong third quarter, outscoring the Cardinals 18-8 in the frame. In the fourth quarter, the Lakers held off the Cardinals in route to the 55-45 victory. Haley McGillvary lead the Lakers with 15 points. 14 rebounds and 2 blocks. Onyx Lopez contributed 14 points and 7 rebounds as well as 3 assists and 3 steals for the Lakers. Kelsey Wertz also had double figures with 11 points on the night.
