Game 1-
Wright State Lake Baseball could not keep pace with Miami University Hamilton 8-5 on Sunday.
Miami University Hamilton got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Dallio doubled, scoring two runs, and a passed ball scored one run.
Boster hit a solo home run to center field in the bottom of the third for the Miami University Hamilton.
Wright State Lake Baseball flipped the game on its head in the top of the fourth, scoring five runs on four hits to take the lead, 5-4. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Sparks that drove in two.
Wise doubled down the left field line, which helped Miami University Hamilton tie the game at five in the bottom of the fourth.
Miami University Hamilton took the lead, 8-5, in the bottom of the fifth thanks to home runs by Mays, and Dallio.
Westerkamp earned the win for Miami University Hamilton. The pitcher allowed zero hits and zero runs over one and one-third innings, striking out two and walking one. Jump took the loss for Wright State Lake Baseball. The righty went five innings, surrendering eight runs (seven earned) on 10 hits, striking out one and walking none. Kiehl started the game for Miami University Hamilton. The pitcher allowed six hits and five runs (three earned) over three and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking two. Geshan earned the save.
Sparks, the number nine hitter for Wright State Lake Baseball, led the way with two runs batted in. The second baseman went 1-for-3 on the day. Bill led Wright State Lake Baseball with two hits in three at bats. Atkins stole two bases. Wright State Lake Baseball ran wild on the base paths, piling up four stolen bases for the game. Wright State Lake Baseball were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Barr made the most plays with seven.
Miami University Hamilton amassed 11 hits in the game. Dallio provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Miami University Hamilton with four runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Geshan, Dallio, and Mays each collected two hits for Miami University Hamilton.
Game 2-
Rasberry collected three hits in three at bats, but Wright State Lake Baseball lost to Penn State Greater Allegheny 6-5 on Tuesday. Rasberry hit a home run to left field in the second inning, doubled in the fourth inning, and singled in the seventh inning.
Penn State Greater Allegheny got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Velentin singled to right field, Patton singled to left field, and , each scoring one run.
Rasberry homered to left field, which helped Wright State Lake Baseball tie the game at three in the top of the second.
Penn State Greater Allegheny took the lead in the bottom of the third. Santiago singled, scoring two runs, to give Penn State Greater Allegheny the edge, 5-3.
Groneck hit an inside the park home run, scoring two runs in the top of the seventh for the Wright State Lake Baseball.
Neely stepped on the bump first for Wright State Lake Baseball. The starting pitcher gave up seven hits and six runs over six innings, striking out six and walking two. Culbertson began the game for Penn State Greater Allegheny. The starter gave up seven hits and five runs over seven innings, striking out five and walking two.
Wright State Lake Baseball turned one double play in the game.
Bosco and Velentin were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Penn State Greater Allegheny while hitting back-to-back. Santiago and Patton were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Penn State Greater Allegheny. Penn State Greater Allegheny turned one double play in the game.
