Game 1-
Both teams were strong on the hill on Saturday, but Wright State Lake Baseball defeated Trine University 3-0. Rasberry started the game for Wright State Lake Baseball and recorded 21 outs.
Wright State Lake Baseball opened the scoring in the third after Sparks singled, scoring one run.
Rasberry earned the win for Wright State Lake Baseball. The hurler gave up one hit and zero runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking one. Gimble took the loss for Trine University. The starting pitcher went five innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on five hits, striking out four and walking three.
Atkins set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Wright State Lake Baseball with two hits in three at bats.
Temple led Trine University with one hit in three at bats.
Game 2-
Wright State Lake Baseball were triumphant over Trine University 5-4 on Saturday.
Wright State Lake Baseball were the first to get on the board in the first when Heitkamp hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
Wright State Lake Baseball committed an error, which helped Trine University tie the game at one in the top of the second.
Trine University took the lead in the top of the third. Bund grounded out, scoring one run, to give Trine University the edge, 2-1.
Wright State Lake Baseball jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the third inning after Jordan hit a sacrifice fly, Heitkamp doubled to center field, McGee singled to center field, and Barr grounded out, each scoring one run.
Crawford earned the win for Wright State Lake Baseball. The starting pitcher allowed four hits and three runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out four and walking five. Jenkins took the loss for Trine University. The pitcher went two and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on five hits, striking out none and walking one. Lacey collected the save. Groneck appeared in relief for Wright State Lake Baseball.
Heitkamp provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Wright State Lake Baseball with two runs batted in. The catcher went 1-for-2 on the day. Atkins set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Wright State Lake Baseball with two hits in three at bats. Atkins stole two bases.
Bund provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Trine University with two runs batted in. The first baseman went 1-for-4 on the day. Jones and Burfurd each collected two hits for Trine University. Taczak stole three bases. Trine University stole four bases in the game.
