Game 1-
Wright State Lake Baseball took down Cleary University 4-2 on Friday at Nischwitz Stadium.
A solo home run to left field by Parinello put Cleary University on the board in the top of the second.
Jump walked, which helped Wright State Lake Baseball tie the game at one in the bottom of the second.
Cleary University took the lead in the top of the third. Kempainen hit a solo home run to left field, to give Cleary University the edge, 2-1.
Wright State Lake Baseball took the lead, 4-2, in the bottom of the fourth thanks to singles by Musgrove, Jordan, and Bill.
Rasberry earned the win for Wright State Lake Baseball. The righty allowed five hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out one and walking one. Montilla took the loss for Cleary University. The hurler went three and two-thirds innings, surrendering four runs on one hit, striking out four and walking five.
Musgrove, Jordan, Heitkamp, and Bill each collected one hit for Wright State Lake Baseball. Musgrove, Jump, Jordan, and Bill each drove in one run for Wright State Lake Baseball. Bats were blistered on Friday, but Wright State Lake Baseball couldn't quite get the job done against Cleary University Cougars and lost 16-7. Cleary University Cougars collected 13 hits, while Wright State Lake Baseball had seven.
Wright State Lake Baseball got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Jordan doubled down the left field line, and Bill singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.
Cleary University Cougars took the lead in the top of the second inning after Parinello singled down the left field line, Vanderhaar doubled down the left field line, and Vincent laid down a sacrifice bunt, each scoring one run.
Cleary University Cougars added to their early lead in the top of the third inning when Parinello singled, scoring one run, #50 singled, scoring one run, and Boone doubled, scoring two runs.
Lieng earned the win for Cleary University Cougars. The pitcher allowed three hits and four runs over three innings, striking out three and walking five. Jump took the loss for Wright State Lake Baseball. The righty went three innings, surrendering seven runs (six earned) on eight hits, striking out three and walking none.
Jordan and Bill were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Wright State Lake Baseball while hitting back-to-back. Wright State Lake Baseball were the first to get on the board in the first when Heitkamp homered to center field, scoring two runs.
Cleary University Cougars jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Mackay was struck by a pitch, Parinello hit a sacrifice fly, and Boone hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.
Parinello homered to left field, scoring three runs in the bottom of the second for the Cleary University Cougars.
Cleary University Cougars added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Wesley singled to left field, Kempainen doubled to center field, and Mackay grounded out, each scoring one run.
Wright State Lake Baseball scored two runs in the top of the fifth on a home run to center field by Jordan.
