Chris Jones enters his first year as Head Coach for the Wright State Lake Campus Men's basketball team.
Prior to coaching, Jones played in several leagues and assisted in community basketball camps. His passion for basketball began in high school, where he played as a starting shooting guard at John Hay High school in Cleveland, Ohio where he is also a native.
After playing high school basketball Jones attended Thiel College, majoring in Business Administration for two years. After leaving Thiel College Jones enlisted in the United States Army to serve his country Army and became a member of the 13 Bravo Artillery unit in Wurzburg Germany. During his term in Germany he also played basketball for a German sports league DJK Sports Association in Wurzburg, Germany for two years. In 1992, Jones played one year for Continental Basketball Association Rockford Lightning in Rockford, Illinois.
Coach Jones later returned to his native Cleveland where he assisted with Bob Nance basketball Academy, a local basketball camp for boys and girls before returning to college and receiving his Culinary Arts degree from Le Cordon Bleu Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts in 2009.
I am excited to have Coach Jones as our Men's Basketball Coach said AD Lanier. He brings a wealth of knowledge to the college game. He has done extensive recruiting and will continue to bring in quality young men as student athletes. We look forward to the success of our men's program moving forward!
