Conor Schmitt was named the USCAA Baseball Player of the Week for his stellar place last week. In his 13 trips to the plate, Schmitt had eight hits, five RBIs, seven runs scored, and three stolen bases. The Lakers have now won seven straight games including four games last week, two each over USCAA rivals Robert Morris University – Springfield and Kent State Tuscarawas.
Schmitt is having a stellar freshman campaign hitting .426 with an OBP% of .494%. He has also driven 13 runs, stealing 10 bases and scoring 17 runs thus far. Conor Schmitt is the fourth WSU-LC Laker to garner player of the week award in the last two years.
